Apate.ai

Apate.ai runs conversational AI agents that pose as scam victims on calls and messages, keeping fraudsters busy and collecting intelligence for banks, telcos and government agencies.

Proof of life. Raised an oversubscribed US$8.15M seed round led by Lobby Capital, September 2026

About Apate.ai

Apate.ai builds voice and text AI agents that answer scam calls and messages while posing as believable victims.

The agents keep scammers occupied and away from real people, and they collect intelligence such as mule bank accounts, crypto wallet addresses, phone numbers and phishing links. An analytics layer turns these findings into dashboards and alerts.

The company sells to telcos, banks, crypto firms and law enforcement, and it says partners including CommBank and TPG Telecom use the service to divert scam calls. Apate.ai was spun out of Macquarie University in Sydney in 2024.

It raised a $2.5M seed round in August 2025 and an US$8.15M seed round in September 2026.
